At what age can the puppy go to it’s new home?
They are ready to be picked up or delivered after they turn eight (8) weeks of age.
Do the puppies have any type of training prior to being sent to their new home?
Yes. I start training as soon as they start walking. Teaching them with a gently affirming presence. Since most dogs are typically toy motivated I have several small puppy toys I use to support positive behavior. I frequently use toys and treats that promote animal enrichment. I also start the formal house breaking and crate training process. The puppies are taken outside on a strict schedule. A copy of my daily schedule will be provided to you to help them settle in with your family. They are also introduced to basic commands like sit, kennel, off, wait, and come. I HIGHLY recommend enrolling your new puppy with a local dog club in a puppy socialization and training class. The classes are just as important for your new puppy as they are for you.
Should we get a male or female puppy?
In some ways, choosing between male and female dogs is a matter of personal preference. However, there are some differences. It is important to evaluate these characteristics and determine which sex would fit in best with your home situation when you choose a puppy. Many people have strong ideas about whether a male or female Golden Retriever is better. These ideas are usually wrong, but a few differences do exist.
There is no ‘hard’ data that supports one gender over the other with respect to intelligence and trainability.

Yes, I belong to several clubs and organizations.

Are your dogs registered?
Yes, all of my dogs are registered with the AKC and all of my puppies will come with AKC registration papers.
What guarantees do you offer with your puppies?
I have ensured that appropriate health certifications have been performed to check for serious hereditary health defects. I also provide routine preventative health care and regular examinations by a licensed Veterinarian. For these reasons, I am able to offer a 25-month written health guarantee with confidence for the newest member of your family. Do you require spay/neuter contracts?
Yes, I require that all non-show/breeding homes alter their new puppy before 24 months of age and no less than 6 months of age.
At what age should I have my puppy spayed/neutered?
Most studies show that between 12 and 24 months of age is the most ideal time to have your Golden Retriever spayed or neutered.
If I would like to have breeding rights what do I need to do?
I do not offer breeding rights. All puppies are sold with limited registration.
Where are you located?
We are located in Springfield, Missouri. If you don’t live close that’s okay! I am experienced at getting your puppy to you quickly and safely. I feel 100% comfortable shipping my puppies anywhere in the United States or Canada. Arranging a flight is really a simple process and is a very safe way for the puppy to travel. The airlines do a great job taking care of the babies and have a lot of security measures in place to ensure their safety. They travel in a climate and pressured-controlled part of the plane.

Any other fees besides the purchase price?
*You will need to register the puppy and microchip with the AKC. The current fee is approximately $45-50. The microchip will be registered with AKC’s Reunite. This helps ensure if the puppy ever did get lost you would have a greater chance of it being returned to you if found. An unregistered microchip does no good as they won’t know who to contact.
I require that you purchase at least a small bag of the food the puppy is eating so they are not making an abrupt change in diet.
*AKC and Microchip registration fees are to be paid when picking up the puppy to ensure that the new owner information is updated.
What all comes with the puppy?
I will email you a link that has the puppy’s daily schedule with the current diet, feeding schedule, and potty routine which will help them settle in with your family. All puppies will be up to date on all vet care and come with a complete medical record and health certificate. All of our puppies are microchipped.
How does the process work?
The first step is making sure one of my puppies is right for you. I have a questionnaire that I can email for you to fill out and return. Every family is looking for different personality traits. For example; will they be good with kids, other pets, or even specialty traits for obedience, conformation, or service dog work. If we decide that one of my puppies is right for your family you would start by placing a deposit. This deposit would secure a puppy for your family. Once the puppies are closer to 7 weeks of age we will start evaluating the puppies and each puppy is aptitude tested. The information you provided on the questionnaire will assist me in making recommendations to you on which puppies I think would be the best fit. When that time comes we will have a more detailed discussion about the puppies and make the selection together that works best for your family.
If I am unable to keep the puppy what is your policy?
I realize sometimes that circumstances change. You may be forced to move into an area that isn’t pet-friendly. You or your family may decide that taking care of a puppy really isn’t something they want to do after all. Health or allergy may prevent you from giving proper care or attention to your puppy. At any time during your puppy’s lifetime, I will always welcome it back, regardless of the reason or age. I want to make sure all of my puppies stay happy and are well cared for. If you ever have to give up your puppy please contact me before giving it away to a stranger or releasing it to a shelter/adoption facility. If you return the puppy for any reason, it will be on a surrender basis only with no refund or credit.
